Sleepytales ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application.

Information you provide:

Child's first name and age — used solely to personalize bedtime stories. This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Story preferences — theme selections and custom details you enter when creating stories, stored locally on your device.

Information collected automatically:

Subscription status — managed by Apple's App Store and our payment processor (Adapty) to verify your subscription. We do not have access to your payment details.
Crash reports and analytics — anonymized performance data to help us improve the app.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide our features:

OpenAI — to generate story content and voice narration. The child's first name, age, and story preferences are sent to OpenAI's API to create personalized stories. OpenAI's privacy policy is available at openai.com/privacy.
Adapty — to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. Adapty's privacy policy is available at adapty.io/privacy.
Apple App Store — to process payments for subscriptions.

4. Children's Privacy

Sleepytales is designed for use by parents and guardians with their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. The app is intended to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian.

We only collect a child's first name and age, which are stored locally on the device. When generating stories, the child's first name and age are sent to our AI provider to personalize the content.

5. Data Storage and Security

All personal data (name, age, preferences, saved stories) is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage frameworks.
Story generation requests are transmitted securely via HTTPS.
We do not maintain user accounts or store personal data on our servers.

6. Data Retention

All data is stored on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app or use the reset function in Settings. We do not retain any personal data on external servers.

7. Your Rights

You can at any time:

View and edit the child's name and age in Settings
Delete all saved stories from the app
Reset the app to its initial state
Uninstall the app to remove all data from your device

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date above.
